A Suite Stay in the Cape

I visited Homesuite Hotels last year in Rosebank and had the most enjoyable experience (you can read about it here) and at the end of my review, I said I'll be visiting the Cape Town franchise soon but I had no idea that the opportunity to go would come in less than 12 months! So yes, today I'm sharing my experience of the Homesuite Hotel in Seapoint, Cape Town including my flight with Lift Airlines.
The morning started bright and early, the anticipation to get to Cape Town was driving me crazy. Lift sent me a SMS the night before informing me that online check-in was available so thankfully that wasn't something I had to stress about. Lift Airlines is owned by the same company that owns the Homesuite Hotel franchise and the same culture of comfort, ease and providing a unique/stress-free experience that you enjoy at the hotels is evident in the airline as well.
One thing that definitely sets the airline apart is that the air hosts and hostesses don't dress in the traditional airline attire. They were literally in all black jeans and black sweaters with the Lift logo and immediately my brain was like "Yes, this makes sense!"
So again, that easygoing nature starts from the top and goes all the way down. The plane itself is pretty standard, there is a premium option which is a version of business class at the front of the plane if you'd like some extra space. All passengers receive a complimentary croissant and a beverage of your choice - I loved that their coffee cups had the Lift logo on them too. Thanks to zero delays and the plane leaving timeously, we landed in Cape Town exactly at the estimated time which was perfect because I was just itching to get into the Mother City and see what it had in store for me.
Upon arrival at Homesuite Seapoint, I didn't expect the hotel visibility to be so low-key. There was simply a street number on the wall so I had initially thought the Uber had gotten the location wrong but thankfully that wasn't the case. The lobby was also low-key but in a minimalistic way so I quite liked it. There was a cute sitting area right outside the reception with multi-coloured steel courtyard chairs which contrasted with the white-wash walls and gave a nice beach/ocean vibe, I was half expecting to see some sand on the floor even. Whilst the lobby is minimalist, the rest of the hotel is vibrant and tastefully decorated - as if I expected anything less! We were helped by Nozipho, who was so friendly and made me feel like I was visiting an old friend's home, she led us to our room and this is when things started to get really good.
Nozipho opens the door for us and we aren't greeted by a bed or balcony view, instead there is a short walkway that passes a cozy dining table and kitchenette and opens up to the main room that is glimmering from the sun rays streaming through the window walls that panned the entire room. There was a beautiful bed mounted with a leather headboard, a chic lounge area and the magnificent window walls boasting 180 degree views of the ocean on one side and Lions Head Mountain on the other. There was so much to see and take in, my brain could hardly keep up. I made a bee-line for the balcony door and stepped out and thanks to the clear skies that day, I could see the ocean sparkling in the distance while parasails floated across the blue skyline: an absolute dream.

The use of colours and textures in these hotels will never not impress me. From the leather headboard to the checkered carpet, from the marble top coffee table to the crescent couch - every piece makes a statement but nothing overpowers the other. The bathroom is tiled with deep royal blue squares from top to bottom, which sounds like it should be overwhelming but in contrast with the multi-coloured terrazzo vanity and the bubble bathroom lights and clay coloured floor, somehow it all flowed together. I must say the cupboard space in this room deserves an honorable mention, I have never seen a hotel offer two full cupboards plus additional shelving EVER, it made me wish I was staying longer just so I could fill them up. I could go on about the bedroom forever and forever but there's still so much good to get into!

The hotel consists of 5 levels and the fourth floor is where guests enjoy their breakfast as well as multiple chill spots inside and outside. I just love how they maximized the views with the window walls and every sitting area faces these windows so you never miss a thing. Same as the Rosebank hotel, Seapoint only offers guests breakfast and they definitely make it worth your while. The spread is absolutely beautiful, there's nothing you wont find: fruits, waffles, biltong, croissants, cereal - you can have it all, plus the chef will make you any eggs of your choice with bacon, sausages, beans and more. When we went down for breakfast on Saturday, the chef greeted me and asked "How did you sleep?" and it's that ability to be personable, warm and welcoming that will always make Homesuite Hotels memorable for me. Apart from the stunning interior and great views, they make you feel taken care of and valued at all times. Another wonderful touch I loved was that when you come back to the room in the evening, you will find chamomile teabags in the kitchenette with some cookies and a small note bidding you goodnight and offering you the tea to help you wind down. Do you see that attention to detail? Anyway, I digress.

The fifth floor is the rooftop pool and bar, a gorgeous space that would definitely be my go-to spot on a hot summers day. There is a long bar island with mini fridges that I believe are fully stocked in the warmer seasons. There's a dip pool, lounge chairs and ample seating for all to enjoy the view and spend time with the company you came with. The use of space is very impressive, it feels very functional and the aesthetics are top tier, obviously.

The location of the hotel was ideal for traveling with Uber because its central to a lot of good restaurants, the V&A Waterfront and the beach of course! All in all, I think its fair to say I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I was genuinely sad to leave, no number of days ever feels enough when it comes to this perfect place - I can only hope my next visit isn't too far away. If you need a place to stay in Cape Town or Rosebank, this hotel must be your one and only accommodation option!
